I'm stealing from the homeless
Hmmmm... so I started a program at work called Operation Bubble. (I did NOT come up with that name, and for most things I come from the school of 'good enough', so...) Basically, when people are traveling, which they always do here, they collect the little hotel shampoos and other toiletries when they don't use them and bring them back to me. Then I drive them up to the homeless shelter.
I don't know where people are traveling, but I just had a box dropped off by a guy whose neighbor is a flight attendant for Southwest. I officially want to work for them now. Our people are bringing in soaps from the Holiday Inn Express and Marriott, if they were really lucky. This lady, well, I have four sleeping masks/ear plugs/lavender-scented linen spray kits, and a "Sleep Advantage CD" from the Crowne Plaza. I figure that the shelter would laugh at me if I deposited those with the soap, so I excluded them from my stockpile. Otherwise, I don't know where these came from, but there's a Bath & Body Works Orange Ginger aromatherapy body lotion and a B&BW Coconut Lime Verbena body lotion that I took for myself. I can't believe I did it. Maybe 2 fl oz of body lotion isn't a big deal when we're talking over 100 lbs of toiletries, but still.
I want to know which hotel chains have these. Clearly I'm staying at the wrong places.

You taking the CD reminds me of a book that I'm reading that has a story about how a group dropped off a box of microwave popcorn for the homeless. Because the homeless are just bursting at the seems with microwaves and electricity to power them. :)
I swear, people are good-intentioned, but sometimes they pull moves that make you just want to cock your head at them and say, "Really??"
